Management Training
Managers impact a company on many levels--customer satisfaction, profitability, and employee retention. When companies promote from within, they typically choose the individual in a functional area of the company who is the most technically competent. Ironically, the skill set used by the technically competent worker is not the set of skills needed to succeed in management. Unlike working in a technical area of expertise, the new manager is responsible for getting work done through others; accordingly, newly promoted managers need management training. Management training provides knowledge and skills to improve manager effectiveness, helps the new manager acquire competencies to handle staff, customers, and financial responsibilities, and helps the new manager gain confidence in the new role.
